Its in great shape. High hours, but not going to last long at that price...

Seen the boat on the water myself. The engine hours don't really mean much in the big picture. The parts will wear in a normal pattern, or in an accelerrated pattern based largely on the maintenance. If the boat does not look like a 16 year old boat when you walk up to it I promise you the owner took care of the engine too. I have seen 5 year old boats that were pretty much used up because of a small maintenance budget and a careless owner. The eye test will give you a few answers but not the whole story. My Mariah is a 1994 with 850 hours. I considered repowering this year. The custom engine builder said he would not recommend it in good faith because it was not needed. He would sell me what I wanted, but not because it was needed. Just saying.
