Default New to Mariah's! Have a purchase question

Good evening all! I just purchased a beautiful 1996 Z220 Talari this weekend. Boat is in excellent shape and well maintained. I purchased this boat from a Georgia owner and they do not require boat titles in the state of Georgia. Will a hand written bill of sale be acceptable that has sale price, hull ID number, and both parties signatures and had a witness sign it. I live in South Carolina. Has anyone made this type of transaction before? Owner said if SC DNR needed an official document filled out and signed he would be happy to. Long story short I didn't expect to buy on the spot and we could not get to a printer and print one out. Thanks for your input.

Welcome to the MOC 96MariahZ220, and congrats on your "new" Mariah!

Ironically, I had the same problem when I bought my Z280. It was originally titled in Florida, and then moved to GA. So, that's where the titling issues began when I went to purchase it. I had to get a notarized bill of sale with the following info:

    Seller's Name
    Boat Year/Make/Model:
    Boat HIN:
    Engine Year/Make/Model:
    Engine Serial #:
    Trailer Year/Make/Model:
    Trailer VIN:
    Buyer's Name:
    Buyer's Address:

Generalized statement saying the seller states as of (date) that there are no liens or incumbances on the above described vessel. Sold "As-Is" with no warranty

    Seller signature
    Buyer Signature
    Witness

If you go through a bank for financing, they'll wanted photos of all the HIN's, VIN's & Serial numbers too.

This was all I needed to get everything titled in Ohio with both the bank, and ODNR. Hope this helps!
