Maybe there should be a prompt or an "I agree" type box that pops up when you sign up for the MOC addressing the owners manual issue -- might help keep some of the requests off the forum boards?

I remember my first time... I still have first time issues... We are all here to learn, some quicker than others, so lets have tolerance and good will for all of our new and old Mariah owners.

I think by and large there is plenty of tolerance and good will on these boards. Heck, I applaud Mikey and the the other mods...for as many times as they have to answer this question I feel like they show plenty of patience.

I'm not trying to criticize anybody, but I think that most here would agree that "I'm looking for an owners manual" is by far and away the #1 question posed on this forum. Yes, there is a sticky in the introductions section, but I'd say its been shown that many new members don't see this when they are first signing up. Therefore, perhaps a more obvious prompt when one first signs up addressing the very question that most new members likely have would be helpful for both new and old members?

Might expedite the learning process... which is why we're all here, right?

I do have to bite my tongue sometimes cuz it does get a bit frustrating answering that same question over & over & over & ... :yes_grin:

We need to find something that works. We've tried a few different things so far and none have been successful. Getting people to use the Site Search function would help too rather than just asking to be directed to everything. Maybe we can add a link to the manuals in the "Welcome" email that goes out to new members along with a new tab entitled 'Owners Manuals' along the top of the forums page where the tabs say "Home, Forum, Gallery, Videos etc.." I'll see if i can get something done here...


Edit: I did find out that there is a note & link in the 'Welcome" email that gets sent out to every new member advising them about the manuals along with a link to the "Search" function. Goes to show how few bother to actually read that email.... :shakehead:

While you're at it Mikey, maybe a sticky on how to remove whale tails and the benefits of smart tabs ;-)
