Just purchased a 97 jubilee

I just bought a 97 jubilee. Boat runs great few minor cosmetic repairs need to be done. The only real problem is stiff steering did a search unhooked the steering cable and it's still stiff looks like it needs a new cable. How do you get to the steering wheel end of the cable thanks in advance.

Up under the dash , directly behind the steering wheel.
It bolts on to the rack , with I believe 4 bolts if I remember right.
Make sure the bushings in the gimble ring at the drive are good also , and check the steering ram itself where the cable hooks up to the steering lever.

How do you get under the dash. Do you have to remove the panel that goes from the dash all the way to the back of the boat. I am hoping there is a way to remove just the dash cover.

Lay on your back , under the steering wheel.
Look up , and you'll see the back of the gauges and the steering rack with the cable coming out of it.
I didn't think there was any kind of panel , but if there is , should be screws at the edges to remove it.
Hopefully one of the Jubilee guys will chime in soon with some more info/help.

I just removed the steering cable form my Jubilee. Access to the steering wheel end of the cable is easy when you take off the panel in the back of the "head" compartment. the domes in the panel turn out by hand to get access to screws holding the panel in place.
Good luck
