Default Buying a 2003 sc19

Hi, we are looking at a 2003 19' cuddy. It looks to be in exceptional condition but about 3,000 over nada high of 10,445. Thinking of offering around 12,000. The boat looks like new but we haven't taken it for a test drive. Any thoughts? Thanks

Got a link to this boat so that we can view details? My first thought is that a 19' cuddy is small and is usually quickly outgrown. As for the price, unfortunately its the wrong time of year to be buying a boat because sellers can demand a premium. But $3k might be a bit too much of a premium for me.

I would also suggest that you check the boat over very closely as well as take it for a water run. This was the first year of the Sea-Fox built Mariah's and there was bound to be a few early production bugs.

If you want a quick primer on buying a used Mariah, click here.

btw, just had a quick look at your boat bio. A 3.0 litre in a 19' cuddy will be a bit of a 'sedate' cruiser..... but it will be easy on fuel.

I don't know how to send a link we are going to water test today. The boat is the perfect size for us now we are retired as will not be pulling tubers or skiers. We live in Florida near the intercostal where the speed limit is 30 max. We like to fish and spend the occasional night in a marina or anchored in a cove. We have had 3 boats with the same merc I/0 so know what were getting into there. Seemed a little pricy for its age. We have missed out on 2 other small cuddys, one a 2009 Mariah sc 19for 15,500 in a week and one chapperel 20' cuddy that I think was 2004 for 10,000. There is no good or bad time of year for boats here as we have been looking for about a year.

Well we just drove 2 hrs to check it out. Not even close to excellent condition. It was a boat broker and he said the owner won't budge much. My husband didn't like the trailer much and it didn't have brakes. We tow with a jeep cherokee so a boat that weighs 2700 dry is a bit much without brakes. When I told the guy it was overpriced he just said. Well little Cuddys are rare so what.. Well back to looking. We do like the Mariah's we've seen. Would love to find an original so maybe it is still out there. We appreciate your input thanx.

Amazing how many boats are 'mis-advertised'... was that the boat listed in Dania Beach on Boat Trader?

It's horrible Mikey! I looked at so many boats before I found mine Mariah and hard ten times as many lies as boats I looked at. I even explain to people there's no point in lying about the boat as it is a two hour drive to get to them. They still lied and it just made me want to stab their eyeballs out. Some boats didn't even get more than a 30 second look. Don't know why people have to lie it's not like you're going to find out the truth as soon as you get there. I guess they just assume everyone is stupid and don't know what they're looking at when checking out a boat. I was not raised that way and I guess it just burns me to no end!!! Either that or there are a lot of people whos idea of "excellent condition" is a LOT differ in that mine!

Y'all keep looking, you'll find the right one! Btw, small cuddys are cheap here in Atlanta as people can't seem to give them away around here!

The late 90's Z211 or Z218 would likely fit your needs very nicely if you can find one for sale.
