Default Hello!

Hi,

I am Kevin from Higginsville, MO. I just joined this forum after acquiring a 03 SX18 and 3.0 Mercruiser. I hope to learn more about our new toy and maybe even share some of my knowledge with others. This boat was garage kept and I think it was a real find. The interior is near flawless, and the exterior looks new. With no hour meter, I am uncertain on actual use, but if the condition is any indication, it is very low.

I am interested in downloading an owner manual and maybe any sales promotional literature. Specifically, the layout on the switch panel, as there are 3 or 4 rocker switch actuators missing.

Thanks,

Kevin

Welcome to the club and congrats on your Mariah! An official owners manual won't help you much unless you want to lean how to operate a boat in general. However, the contributing members section may have some info for you or feel free to ask questions.

Welcome aboard Kevin. I think that you might want to re-check either the model year or model name of your boat. Mariah didn't make an SX18 prior to 2004.

As for your request for a manual and for promotional materials, please read the 2 STICKYS entitled The Benefits of Becoming a Contributing Member and Where can i find an Owners Manual located at the top of the Introductions forum.

Oh great! That's the decal on the bow and on the title. How do I verify? Will the id # provide model info?

    OK I am corrected...
It is actually a 2003. And not SX18 but an SX8........according to the title. Would that be correct? The Bow has decals showing SX18. Not sure that really matters, but want to be sure I am referring correctly. Thanks

    Welcome to MOC Kev!
Last two numbers of HIN(Hull ID Number) is the year.
Model number/name should be on the Coast Guard capacity plate also.

ok, that makes more sense. 2003 was the first year of production for the Sea-Fox built Mariah boats. I believe that they used the original Mariah 180 hull mold but everything else was completely replaced with their own items. Sea-Fox built these boats to a 'price-point' which meant they lowered the quality level somewhat to make the boat more affordable. It's like most things though, if it was well looked after & maintained properly you should be happy with her. You can read a bit of history about the original Mariah Boats and the Sea-Fox built boats in the FAQ's.

Be advised though that we just found out that Sea-Fox has sold the Mariah name to a Canadian boat builder. We dont know yet whether the new owner will build boats with the Mariah name on them. We can tell you that the new owner will not likely honour any Sea-Fox warranties and its highly unlikely that they will supply any parts for the Sea-Fox built boats. How long Sea-Fox will provide support is also unknown at this point.

Hey Mikey you starting a boat company up there?? Lol. Tell them you want to be their consultant and get them to start building Mariahs like Jimmy did. That way we can all upgrade in a few years... Lol.
