Don't have a Mariah yet,but will be going to see a 1996 shabah bowrider with a volvo SX engine which is either rebuilt or new with 2 hours on the clock, the boat has not been used for 4 Years and stored outside under covers. Asking price £6995 (11485 dollars) proposing to offer £3500 (5747 dollars) . What would be the market price for such a boat? offering £3500 am I miles out ?

First off, welcome aboard Ron. Secondly, its hard for most of us to judge pricing over in the British Isles but we have a number of guys based across the pond that might be able to offer up an opinion. Wait for AndyB to chime in....

    Hi there

Have you got a link you can send me?
If not then a few pictures might help.

Can you give me a few more details like length of boat and what size engine?

Happy to give you my opinion on price.....I've seen a few Mariah's both good and bad over here!

What you have to remember is bottom line the boat is only worth what you're happy to pay for it.

If you don't want to go public about the boat I'm happy to help via PM

    All the best and welcome
    Andy B

Oh well, good luck with your boat search then....
Maybe he's not picked himself up off of the floor after offering £3.5k for a £7k boat

Hi Andy, Sorry haven't been in touch but owner of the boat is away at present but will send you photos when I see the boat. The boat was in our club boatyard hidden in a corner under many covers you could not see what type of boat it was. The only thing that worries me is the fuel consumption with gas at £6 per gallon (think thats 10 dollars), so at 5 gallons per hour £30 ( 50 dollars) for a 4.3lt engine and I normally cover 50 miles per day. But on saying that I LOVE SPEED on the water. With a previous sports cruiser I use to cover 100 miles but then I was working not retired as I am now. As you can see from the attached we have a wonderful playground.

What area of Scotland is that a picture of?

And speaking of Scotland.... time to go celebrate Robbie Burns and down a wee dram or two of single malt.

    Hi Ron,
It's silly season on the forums,
many people popping in/out and you never hear from them again!
    got'a love winter

American Bow riders do get a bit of a bad press over here, you probably know that, but don't go confusing Mariah's with lesser boats.....
Things like Glastrons/Maxims and Bay*****s can't hold a candle to the sea keeping/build quality of a Mariah.

As for the fuel to feed the 4.3L personally I don't think it's that bad. mine has a 4.3L Volvo (basically the same as Merc)
A lot depends on how heavy you are on the throttle

When you find out more i'l be happy to offer any help I can.
And this lot are great if you need any detailed info
If you can get the HIN number they will probably be able to give you the build sheet info.

My boat will do a happy 50mph and is happy to cruise round all day in the 40's
Here's a Video I shot in November, gives you an idea.
My boat is a 2001 Diablo 180 with 4.3l Volvo

I still get comments about how good the boat still looks for it's age

The picture shows the local ferry to the Isle of Cumbrae and in the distance the Isle of Bute and Dunoon, the next picture is the opposite view showing the Isle of Arran and Ireland, a fantastic cruising Area .You have an excellent taste in whisky Mikey, I shall toast you on Burns night with a 20 year old Malt !!

Excellent pics. Yes a Highland Park 21, a Glenfarclas 21 and the traditional Robbie Burns Arran malt were consumed last evening along with a terrific meal including a wee bit of haggis. I should do this more often.
