I don't really have a battery recommendation for you. I use to buy the most expensive ones I could afford until my dads Everstarts (from Walmart) were outlasting my batteries- optimas. He uses 3 everstarts in his bass boat. If maintained correctly they last years and are under $100 each. I can't comment on what kinda performance there is between the two brands. I cant say I noticed anything betweem the everstart over the more expensive batteries aside from more $$$ in my pocket. I flip a switch or turn a key and I have power so they work for me!
If you are looking for an isolator I have a brand new one I'll sell you for 100$+ shipping. I am putting one in my Shabah when the shrink wrap comes off an the other was for a buddies Crownline but he is now selling. Its the Add-a-battery 7650 Sent from my DROID RAZR HD using Tapatalk |
Re: Just bought a 1991 2150zc
I did quite a bit of research last Winter on batteries. It seems to be like the old guys say about tires, "There's really only about three companies that make 'em all." Personally, I don't think that means each manufacturer can't produce varying levels of quality but I do think it's nice to have some insight. I ended up going with AutoCraft because you can get such good deals at Advanced Auto by using promo codes from retailmenot. After a $40 discount, I got a set (group 27 and group 24) for $136.98 before tax at the beginning of the 2013 season.
