2 Attachment(s)
Hi I am a new member of today. I have got a Mariah Boat Z-250 Number is: US-MABXXXXXXX99.
It has broken the glass in front of the steering wheel, see picture attached of boat and picture of number of the boat, and picture of text on the remaining glass.
Sea Fox has no info. for me abot the boat and part number for this windshield, because it was produced by the first company.
Taylor Made need this part no to quote me.
Is there any body that can help me in how I proseed to get some body to make this replasement glass. Or any body to know this part no or what else info needed from me to defind the right model
? Can some define my prod. year out of my number ? is it a 1999 or 2001 model?
i hope for some replies.
Regards

Welcome jan!
I edited your HIN for safety sake. Not a good idea to advertise it.
Anyway , do a search on glass and you will find a ton of info.
I'll tell you right now......very , very hard to find. Custom made glass in excess of 3000.00.
Other option is to use lexan.

Once again , Welcome to MOC!:)

Welcome Jan... Unfortunately you are not telling us anything that we didn't already know when it comes to glass replacement. With Taylor-Made your only hope is finding that part number which is usually in the form of a sticker located on the inside bottom of the window frame or actually within the window glass track itself. Given the model year of your boat (1999) there is at least a chance that Taylor-Made will have the glass molds once you provide them with their model tag.

As Larry noted if you do a site search here for 'glass' you will find numerous threads discussing the problems members have had in finding glass. Its not impossible though, there are usually 2 or 3 ads on eBay with Mariah glass for sale although they are $$. There are a couple of shops that can make glass (Ocean Dynamics and Marine Glass Specialties come to mind) but you will need deep pockets to afford their prices. And, they will likely require your window frame to be used as a mold.

Also, try to keep an eye on our own Marketplace because you may find someone parting out their boat that has glass that will fit.

The only other option i can think of is making your own out of Lexan or acrylic. One of our members did this and you can follow what was involved here.. Your option with this is finding a plastics company in your area that works with either acrylic or lexan (acrylic is a bit better because of the UV protection) and seeing if they can mold a piece to fit your windshield frame.
