Hello to fellow members

Hello to all, I am new to your club and happy that I was able to join. I just purchased a 2002 Mariah Barchetta 182. The boat and the motor are in excellent shape, but the previous owner did not cover the boat and here in Phoenix AZ the sun has done its damage. I am in need of information regarding the replacement of the Marine Decking, Carpet, Interior Kit for all seating, Motor Hatch along with the other interior items. I also need to know where I can purchase all guages and button controls and a steering wheel.

Sorry for the long list of items. We will be celebrating 117 degrees today and no relief in sight. It would be nice to make all the repairs and begin enjoying my new boat.

Thanks ahead of time for any of your suggestions and recommendations.

Can the Decking be purchased as a pre-cut kit?
Can the Seats and interior items be purchased as a pre-made kit?

Thanks Barry

hi Barry, First off welcome aboard. Second, are you sure your 2002 is a Barchetta? I know they made a Shabah 182 but was unaware they brought back the Barchetta name just for the final year of production.

As for your list of needs... All interior trim parts are unavailable new. You may as well start looking for a marine upholstery / carpet vendor in your area and get prices on the replace or repair costs. Gauges and switches etc are eBay items or check out our Marketplace for someone who is parting out their boat. Also have a look thru our Original Parts & Vendors list which is a collection of vendors we've found who can usually help out obtaining certain parts.

In the event you are unfamiliar with Mariah boats....the original Mariah (which you have) went bankrupt in 2002. The manufacturer of the new Mariahs (Sea Fox) basically bought the name and a few of the molds for the hulls and that was it. They do not carry parts for or warranty any of the original Mariah boats.

Barry,

Welcome aboard. I talked to you on the phone and I'm glad to see you found the great site. There are a lot of very helpful people here with a ton of information.

I would use some sort of fiberglass to replace your flooring (the HW stores sells 1/8" FRP, but you would need at least 1/4") versus marine plywood. Anyone else have a suggestion on replacing rotted floors? Outdoor carpet can be glued on over that.

Are your seats shot or just discolored? You can try Lysol Mold/Mildew remover on them if they'e just mildewed. If they're past the cleanup stage, you can clean (Lacquer Thinner), mask them and spray them with 2 or 23 light applications of SEM Vinyl Dye (20 colors or more) ...

Good luck with your boat - we have your canvas when you get the deck done ...

We've had a couple of members do a flooring replacement. The best write-up was done by "Provo" and you can read about that project here.
