1996 Mariah 180

I am closing in on buying a 1996 180. My only concern is he has owned it for 4 years and put a new 6cyl Mercruiser in it 2 years ago. Seems to run well but I am waiting to see a reciept from where he bought the new engine. He said it was new.

I will need new trailer tires. any suggestions? My local dealer where i get my car tires said he can get Gladiator tires.

I am excited about the new used boat. I am selling my 28 tear old Chris Craft, that I bought new
and still runs.

Buying a used boat is really no different than buying a used car. Get it on the water to ensure it runs well, make sure all of the electrics work particularly the trim gauge cuz replacing the sensor means removing the outdrive. Get copies of his maintenance work & ensure it was properly winterized. Make sure all of the interior trim pieces are there because they are difficult to find and check the general maintenance of the boat & engine area. IF it is clean & well-kept then likely the boat was looked after by its present owner. As for trailer tires any reputable tire vendor should be able to provide decent trailer tires. I 'think' i run 205-14" radials on mine and the total weight with the trailer is likely just slightly over 3000 lbs
