What to look for?

Hi folks, just joined the club to find out as much as I can about Mariah's before I try and buy one
I've. been looking at pretty much every make going and have to say that I've been smitten by the
Mariah boat bug! Anyway I'd be greatfull for any tips on what to look for when buying one of these
Boats, I would like a open bow shabah possibly with a 3 litre merc? . Cheers Bill

I would get at least a 4.3 v6. Had a 3 liter in my old boat. What a dog slow bad hole shot and bad top speed. Fuel economy is just as good in 4.3 too.

Re: What to look for?

If you aren't going to do any wakeboarding/waterskiing/tubing etc or have a habit of carrying more than 4 adult passengers, then the 3.0L Merc is a good choice. Yes its a bit slow (top out in the high 30's or with luck very low 40's) but it is easier on the fuel than the 4.3 is. The 4.3 is much better for water sports or hauling more than 4 adults around. And if the boat has planing problems, you can always add a set of Smart Tabs for under $150. that will solve that problem.
