Default 7.4L 2100 XLC Intro

Hi everyone, just picked up a 1990 Mariah 2100 XLC to work on over the winter and enjoy next summer! This one had the 7.4 454 Merc which sealed the deal for me, and only had 250 hours on it to boot... There arent many boats this size with a 7.4L engine.

The boat needs some minor work as all old boats do, the most complex being reinforcing or replacing the cabin ceiling liner. I have a few ideas for that one, maybe even using carpet or metal plate. The interior is in great shape with no tears in the upholstery and no soft spots on the floors. The exterior is in good shape as well except a small area of dock rash.

The engine started right up with a cold block and has good compression in the couple cylinders I checked. The boat was a one-owner and had good maintenance records as well.

I look forward to being on the forum and contributing!

    Welcome aboard ss!!
Ya definately got a great power package on your Mariah.
There are a few members with the XLC's , but not many so that's cool
If you do a search there are a few discusions about the headliners in the "cuddy" models.
Manuals and other materials are available for contributing members.

Good stuff Larry! I got the boat on the water today and it purred like a kitten. Got it up to 58mph GPS and it was still a little underpropped (was running out at 4800 which seems too high for a 7.4l, Ill step up a pitch and see what happens). The hull rides a little differently than what I am used to, but is very stable and skims across the water when trimmed right.
