i think i did good

Hello all my name is Kyle. A month ago my dad and i bought what i believe is a 1996 Z 190 Shabah. What a find it had only 130 hrs and just some minor scratches interior was almost perfect. I have been browsing around here and i see a lot of people have the 18 footers and the 20 some footers but not many of the 19s just wondering if what i have is rare. I really don't know much about Mariah other than what i have see here. If someone can enlighten me a little as to what this boat may be that would be great. Thanks

Welcome aboard Kyle. Your 190 isn't exactly a 'rare' boat but i think that most people who are starting into boating buy an 18' then get "2 footitis" afterwards which means they go to a 20' next. If you have the "Z" model then you have the nicest of 190's with the exception of possibly the "LE" versions which are very rare. If she has been well maintained & truly has only 130 hours on her then you should be very happy with that boat for a few years. These boats were well built & with many options that were simply not available on other comparable boats at the time. Look after her & make sure you winterize her properly and she will be an excellent boat for you & your dad. For some brief specs on your boat, she is 18' 10" long, has a 94" beam, a 28 gal fuel tank and comes in dry at 2450lbs. With the 4.3 in her then she should hit the high 40's maybe just touching on 50mph on a good day.

Re: i think i did good

The boat as far as i can tell, and i am a mechanic by trade, is in really good shape i have never seen a boat this old in this good of shape. It just never got out. i did notice a lot of loose hardware when i first brought it home and went at it with screw driver. i think it was moored in a slip at some time because one side had some scratches in it and the rub rails had some marks. The hull looks like it has never been beached. The reason i think it is a Z model because it has 4.3LX and that is the 180 hp if my research is right. I'm sorry if i offend any one but the shabah sticker was just to much for me so i took it off. I will get the HIN tomorrow. I was going to ask if some where someone could id it from the HIN. thanks again.

Boat looks awesome! Nice find.

Personally I'd have left the Shabah decals on, but the best part about owning a boat is you can do whatever you want to it. :D
Have fun with it, I am hoping we have another 8 weeks of warm weather or more here in the Midwest so I can enjoy mine into October.
All the best!

Nice looking boat! Welcome to MOC. I see you have KA numbers on it and by the look of the shoreline i'd guess Cedar Bluff Reservoir. We boat Perry most weekends.

Re: i think i did good

So you're not sure about the "Z" package? The "Z" package isn't based on having the 4.3LX (mine does but isn't a Z) but it does include things like docking lights, windshield wiper, window defogger, power captains seat, power rear hatch, digital water & air temp readouts along with custom 2 tone gelcoat colours. You are correct about the 4.3LX at 180hp for 1996.

If you want to replace the "Shabah" sticker one of our members sells them thru our site and thru eBay.You can read about how to order from the vendor here.

Re: i think i did good

Sorry the guess about cedar bluff is incorrect that picture is from Wilson Lake at the rock town cove. From what i have heard cedar bluff is way down because of the drought, we need rain something fierce. All my crops are about a month ahead because of the heat we had. Good news is long fall for boating and fishing. The boat must not be a Z it has none of the power options. Thanks everyone for the compliments.
