Bringing home my new Mariah today!
 

Hello all!

My wife and I are bringing home our new (to us) Mariah today and we couldn't be happier! We've owned a boat previously (not a very GOOD boat but a boat none the less!) and we have searched for probably 6 weeks to find a new GOOD boat. Our prayers were answered Saturday noght when we found a 1996 Mariah Shebah 180 SE with the volvo 4.3. It's the bright red boat and we are both so excited we can hardly contain ourselves.

We are in the Kansas City area. looking forward to hitting some of the southern Missouri lakes, Pomme De Terre or Bull Shoals, probably get it wet this weekend at Smithville or maybe Hillsdale.

Wow, she looks great! We have just a plain old regular 1996 Shabah 180 with the mercrusier 4.3. I can see the power steering and alternator on the Volvo, but what's the belt driven thing in the lower left of the engine?

Honestly I have no clue, anyone want to chime in? My engine and mechanical expertise is limited to non-marine variety GM engines from Pontiac and Chevy circa 60-80.

I'd like to, when are you guys out there. From what I am finding there are not A LOT of original Mariahs out on the water ... at least not in this neck of the woods, so fellowship would be fun.

We are headed to Colorado to take in some cool air this weekend but we usually try to get out there every weekend. There's a surprising amount of Mariahs out there. I'm sure I saw five last weekend if I count ttownmatt's (member here). We'll definately meet up with ya sometime.

Thanks for all the kind words and all the great info on this site! I am loving this boat more and more each day. I am adding a dual battery set up tonight and giving her a full cleaning and conditioning of the interior surfaces (and a good vacuuming) and then it's out to the lake first thing tomorrow.

I am not a Mariah owner yet but I too live in Kansas city, mo. Yesterday I saw probably 4 different Mariah boats on Smithville Lake. Seeing a Mariah for the first time, out there a couple months back, has drawn me to looking into these boats and now I think a Mariah will be my next boat

Hey nice to meet you, I love my Mariah. It's funny, never really felt like this about a boat before. :rolling_laugh:

I saw a 96 Shabah 180 listed in the KC Craigslist yesterday, not sure what color (no pictures) but I can say it's a heck of a nice boat if it's been cared for.

Good luck I hope you get one and join the Mariah party.

That's good to hear that you love your boat that much. It's weird to have a connection to a boat that I haven't even owned yet, but I do tend to obsess about things at times.

I plan on buying a Z302. Just a matter of finding the right one

If I see one I will sure let you know. You willing to travel or you only looking local? I found mine in Wichita, best luck I have ever had, I was looking on Saturday the 21st with my wife and we were scanning CL around KS and MO and I stumbled on mine 11 minutes after it was posted. Love at first sight! :love:

Willing to travel for the right one. Called about one in florida a couple of days ago. We're going to Lake of the Ozarks to look at 2 z302's tomorrow
