Hello everyone,

Just got a 1994 Talari z190. I am also new to boating. I hope I have made a good decision. The boat seems pretty good, but a few things I already noticed.

1. I can hear the trim move to the down position when I press the button down, but I do not hear anything when pressing the up position.

2. I know the boat has an automatic bilge pump. How often should the pump go on when the boat is sitting in the slip when the water is fairly calm.

3. Water in the ski storage area. Is this normal? Previous owner had left it outside uncovered this past week uncovered and there has been some rain. So I really am not sure, but I am concerned.

4. Horn is not operating. Everything else seems to be fine. Where to I find replacement parts/switches.

5. One of the headrests is missing. Where can I find a replacement?

Welcome aboard.

#1: I'm going to leave this one for others here to chime in on. This seems to be a common problem this year with many members and there are lots of threads on the subject.
#2: The bilge pump will come on as soon as the water level in the bilge rises to the level of the autoswitch. If this seems to be happening a little too frequently i would closely examine the bellows on the outdrive for a crack/split. If you find one it will need to be repaired or the bellows replaced asap.
#3: See #1. The ski storage area drains into the bilge so it's possible that water is backing up thru the floor drain.
#4: Usually its a poor connection at the horn. Take off both connectors, clean them then reattach to see if it works. Also check to ensure the ground connection is clean.
#5: Chances are somewhere between slim & none. Check our marketplace, ebay, craigslist & kijiji.
