Default Hello all from a new member

This is Bill from Palm Harbor, FL.

I had read here and there about a group with info, stories and experiences with older Mariah. I am glad to have found it while googling around. I own a 96' Mariah Shabah 200. I love this boat. I picked it up in 2005 from a fellah that only seemed to care about the engine/outdrive. I've been whiping her into shape ever since. She is a beautiful boat and treats me well. All of her issues seem to come on slowly and give me fair warning.

This model has the 5.7L so to me she is like a 8 person jet ski. Our family has a lot of fun going to our "private" islands off of Florida.

I am looking forward to chatting. I'll try not to let my first post be "Where can I get a brochure or decal." ;o)

Thanks,

Bill

Hello Bill. Welcome to our club. These original Mariahs are great boats & very well constructed so it's no surprise that they seem to last forever. That 20' with the 5.7 should have some "get up and go"! I'm sure you will find the members here very helpful and full of advice but we will look forward to your contributions also! Please feel free to upload a few pics to our gallery for us to check her out.

As for brochures / manuals etc, these are available to contributing members so if you want to see what that is all about, click the "Donate" button above and all will be explained.

As for decals, our of our admin guys (not sure if it's Ryan or Chris) has access to such things so once he sees your post he'll respond.

    Mikeyt,

Thanks! I just made my first contrib in the area of Carpet Replacement. I was pokin' fun at the manuals and decals as since I the day I bought mine I have seen requests for that from all over the web. I will plug into the donate area soon I am sure. Aside from enjoying the boat, as I take on projects, I am trying to keep her as close to Mariah as possible. That'll include the Shabah on the sides eventually and I would love to find a monogram solution for the small snap-in bow carpet. Oh well, one bite at a time.

I can already appreciate what I have read so far, so I am excited to have fellow owners to laugh (and cry) with.

    Thanks,

    Bill DeWeese

    Ahoy Bill,

Welcome to our little corner of the web!

I know how you feel about keeping your Shabah as close to original as possible! There are many challenges our members have been able to overcome and of course, some we haven't. No problem, it's just a matter of time and hopefully we will have answers to all things related to Mariah!

As for the embroidery, this I must say IS a challenging one! I’m looking in to this area myself too (Head rests and carpet), so as soon as I have any leads you bet it will be posted here as quick as I can type!

    Good luck,
    WetWilly

Yeah the 5.7L in a 20' boat is a nice combo. Plenty of power for towing, and it gets up on plane in milliseconds...

    Welcome to the forum!

Hi Bill, and welcome to the board! Glad you finally found us, Ryan (Mariahman) and I put this place together for people just like you. We have the friendliest and most helpful bunch I've ever seen on any boards. As said before, we have manuals, brochures, wiring diagrams, and all sorts of fun Mariah, Mercruiser, & Volvo Penta stuff available for download to contributors.

And, if you're interested in decals, send me an Email. I can help you out!

    Again, welcome onboard!

    Hi Bill,
I have the same boat. I have not had to do any repairs. It looks as good as new and I have the Captains call exhaust, which sounds awesome. Good Luck with the boat.
