Default Hi! Intro and Question

Hi everyone, my name is Robert. From good ol' Oklahoma.

I must admit, I just registered today, but I did spend a full weekend looking over your site and it seems like a nice, helpful place. Ii have read that the origional Mariah's are better quality than the ones built after 2002? Well I found a nice 1995 Barchetta 272 open bow with 454 engine on craigslist, however the price seems to be ... well steep. They don't mention how many hours are on it. I checked nada.com and it seems like something about this age would go for 9-10k, however they are asking 18.9k.

Are nada prices that far off?

I just bought a 1995 z272 a few months ago. I bought it for 14K. Nada gives a loan value, but it doesn't take into account some things. Such as mine had a trailer with all new brake system components, new tires, etc. The boat itself was in near perfect condition. It had about 1000 hrs on the motor, compression on all cylinders within specs. Oil pressure when at operating temp, in the good range. Upholstery original with no tears or rips, bow cover, full custom boat cover. Exhaust manifold risers had been replaced, etc. Bottom line it depends on the condition of the boat. And there are a lot of things to check. If you are unsure get a good boat mechanic to check it out for you(not the one that works for the seller). By the way I love my boat. By the way this model listed for about 60K back in 1995

Any more questions, just let me know.
    Dan
