Hi everyone looking at 1995 shabah with 300hrs 5.7 efi I'm looking for info on quality of hull. Is made with wood or fiberglass stringers,do the transoms hold up well etc. marine plywood or the cheap stuff?

Original series Mariah boats were built with pressure treated fir plywood for hull reinforcing. Which was them encapsulated in glass. Better than standard untreated marine plywood. Probably why they had a lifetime hull warranty. I have seen a lot of boats with "no wood stringers", they could say this because many of them had nothing to help strengthen the hull. My boat is a 1995 model and it has no blisters, no hairline cracks around fittings or anywhere else, no soft spots in the deck, upholstery frames, or transom. They are solid boats. Taken care of properly they will last a long time. If you decide to upgrade your membership you can read everything about them, really good information

have you had any major issues with your boat? I love the way they look and sound but I want a boat to last. I'm still running a 1978 Glastron with a 115 Johnson.

You do realise you are asking people who love their Mariah's (that's why most of us are members here) whether or not they are any good dont you? :rolleyes:

As for your other question, it depends on what size/model# boat. All you have told us is that the boat is a 1995 with a 5.7L. If its an 18' boat it will run like a bat out of hell. If its a 30' boat then the performance will be a little 'lacking'. ;)

I am here tying to make an informed decision. As owners of these boats who would no more about any problems,design,or construction issues than the fine folks here. I stopped a 1997 20ft Shabah on the river this summer to look it at because it sounded so good. Candy apple red gold trim beautiful inside and out. I found this other boat, seller does not say length it looks like a 20 or 22 foot boat in the pictures.

Informed decisions are good decisions. The boats come in 3 trim levels. The base version, the "Z" package (power seat/hatch/defroster & numerous other options) and the "LTD" version (solid color gel coat, buckskin color interior). Note though that the base version is still a very well equipped boat!

The boat will likely run in the high 40's to maybe touching the mid 50's depending on the model.

Thanks I called the owner today the boat has power seats and motor cover. Cap call exhaust that does not work properly.(have to manually open or close) I am trying to get over out-patient surgery and hope it does not sell until I can look at it. If I buy the boat I will be back in touch. Thanks again
