Default New Mariah owner

Hi everyone,

I just recently purchased a 1998 Talari 179, however am finding it hard or nearly impossible to find any information on this model. Any help would be great.

I think it was a pretty rare model. There are only two members showing in the gallery with them:
The Mariah Owners Club - Gallery - jmills224's 179 SE Talari

But, what is it you're wanting to know? More than likely someone here has your answers.

Thanks for the quick responses. I didn't have a specific question, just can't find anything on the internet about my model. I guess I was wondering about parts or would my boat be interchangable with another model. Boat is in excellent condition and I don't need parts now but just in case I need something in the future.

You wont find a lot of information on any of the original Mariahs on the net and that was part of the reason this website was created. Typical of most boats it can be difficult, but not impossible, to locate interior trim pieces, original seats and glass for these boats. Most of the electrical items and all of the mechanical items are still widely available. I can tell that your boat weighs approx 2200lbs & has a 30gal fuel tank. If you have the 3.0L you should reach the low 40's and the mid to upper 40's with the 4.3LX.

As well, we have a solid support group here in the event you have questions, problems, ideas or just simply 'wanna chat'.

MikeyT thanks for the info, that is more than I found in three days of searching the net. Just a quick question do you know where I can get the side graphics for my boat, they look just like the ones in your picture. They are the only thing on the boat not in mint condition. By the way I have the 4.3 and it is running low 50's on my GPS on smooth water. Also anyone know ballpark how much it would cost to get a bow and cockpit cover made for this boat.

If you click on Mariah Parts & Collectibles for Sale, the first 'sticky' there is about buying graphics/decals etc from one of our members.

If you are reaching the low 50's on GPS then you are doing well. I had forgotten that the 179 is about 150lbs lighter than my 180. The cost of buying a bow/cockpit cover depends on the time of year & how busy the shop is. You will pay a premium to have it done right now and much less if you wait til the late fall. I would probably budget around $1500 for a complete set.

I too have a 179 with the 4.3 I get about 50 to 55 with the stainless high five prop, my friends were amazed at the little boat that could . I have more torque than most boats out there that are the same in size. Any graffics or decals I went to a local decal maker and he can reproduce most decals any colour for a reasonable price. You may be able to do the same in your area. What colour package is your boat , I recently posted my pics because I did not see any other 179. I bought my boat in Savanah Ill. and shipped it to Canada in Vancouver.
