Default New to Mariah and this forum

Hey All,

Just bought a 2000 258. My wife and I looked at allot of boats and finally decided on this one. Older than we originally wanted but were attracted by the low hours (72) and fit & finish of this boat. No doubt I will have questions for the forum and look forward to chatting with many of you.

Bez

    Wow @ the 72hrs. Congrats!
Did you have the motor scanned to verify the hours?

How does one "scan" the motor to figure out the hours? I would love to figure out the "age" of my engine as well but without an hour gauge, I am lost.
    Thanks,
    Sanu

I am just in the process of taking possession. The boat is immaculate, I mean no scuffs, marks or anything. Plastic canopy windows never used. But still need to do the water test and it is being bought from a dealer, They have a 3 year old survey which they said they addressed but I have yet to see it. I closed the deal on the phone after going to see it last weekend. Have to dot the i's and cross the t's but seeing it made me a believer. I will go over the boat technically from bow to stern before I pay them in full.

The ECM keeps track of the hours. I've not seen it done but I assume it's basically like an ODBII scanner for a car. Dealers have scanners.
