kinda new owner
 

Hi everyone! I have owned my 97' Z242 Shabah for about a year and a half and I am still learning. I apoligize but this is the first time I have ever owned a boat of this caliber. I am looking for a latch for the driver side storage door in the mid-section of the boat and I am wodering if anyone can tell me the purpose of the dial that the battery cables run to that says off-1-all-2. I have been having battery problems and would like to figure this out before our season gets here

The Switch for the Batteries is a selector and isolator switch, so you have the ability to control which one you want to connect to. You can choose just #1 or #2 or when you select both, you are then connected to both. And when you select off, you are then disconnected completely.

Although this will only apply for the wiring that runs through this switch, for instance on my #2 battery terminals, my stereo also connects directly to the battery, so that it will not be completely turned off, so anything that goes directly to the battery terminals obviously will not be isolated and turned off by this selector switch. So even if I turn the switch off, my battery could still be run down from my stereo.

It gives you confidence though if you are only connected to one in that you know you have a second one all charged up in the event of a drain on the first one, for example, too much stereo time while playing on the hook.

Cant answer about the door latch.
