Another New Member
Hello Everyone... I am 1 day new to this site and have found wonderful and useful information. My descision to purchase this 2001 Z222 today was based on this site. THANKS!
This will be my second boat I have owned. I just recently last yearsold my 1998 Four Winns 180H. I have always loved the quality of the Four Winns family but it lacked attitude. One view at the Mariah and I thought she would fit right into what I was looking for. I can't wait to bring her home but i have about 2 weeks before i can go get it since it is 8 hours away from where I live. The weather is still yuck here with ice still on the inland lakes. So 2 weeks isnt that bad because all I can do is stare at it in my garage. I dont have my own pictures yet but here is a link to where I placed the dealer pictures. 2001 Mariah Shabah Z222 - Windows Live http://gbzbxq.blu.livefilestore.com/...8_l.jpg?psid=1 http://gbzbxq.blu.livefilestore.com/...9_l.jpg?psid=1 http://gbzbxq.blu.livefilestore.com/...8_l.jpg?psid=1 http://gbzbxq.blu.livefilestore.com/...2_l.jpg?psid=1 Thanks again for all the information provided by all members. :wink_thumbup: |
Re: Another New Member
Welcome aboard. She looks very good in yellow and she's one of the very last original Mariahs. It will be a nice step up on the Four Winns 180. Congrats!

Re: Another New Member
WOW, that is a very nice looking boat. Congratulations!
I too once had a 24 Four Winns and found it to be a very nice boat, but I think you will enjoy the attention to detail that your new Mariah has. |
Re: Another New Member
Really nice looking boat. Congrats!
Know what the capital ITA in the name means? |
Re: Another New Member
The name is from the title Chikita as in Banana. The name will be changed as soon as it arrives to my home. Not a big fan of Banana's.

Re: Another New Member
Yeah, I got the banana reference but just wondered what else they were playing on with the hyphen and capital letters.

Re: Another New Member
Yeah now that i think about it you make a good point! I wonder if they were calling out something with the "ITA"? In a world of millions of acronyms... I haven't got a clue:confused:
As long as i am here... Does anyone know if the 2001 Prestige trailler came with brakes on them? My Suburban is not set up with brake control however it does have a trailing package. I do not plan to haul this around every weekend. It just needs to make it 500 miles to my cabin where it will be placed on a lift and or storage. Should I even worry about it? |
Re: Another New Member
Most boat trailers to my knowledge opt for surge brakes instead of electric. Thats what my Heritage has is a surge system that works very well so there's no controller in truck required.
Just look at the drums and you can see if they have brakes or not and then look for either wires leading from the brake drums (this would indicate electric brakes) or there will be a strange looking section of the trailer just behind the ball connection that will be there if they are surge brakes. Mine has small hydraulic lines from this to each wheel to activate the brakes. What little I can see of the tongue in the one picture looks just like my surge brake system. |
