Default New Owner

I just bought my first boat. I have been boating for many years with friends. I will have some questions along the way that I am sure you all have already answered before. Thanks.

I bought a 95 Shabah 202. It has a 5.7 mercruiser alpha 1. It is black & white and needs a buff job. Sorry no pictures yet. The drivers seat back is broken, any fixes? Also , the ski storage under the floor, the wood around that has some water damage. What to do? We started the moter with some muffs and it sounds purrrrrfect. No bearing noise either. The hull doesn't have any scratches. Is $8,500 a good deal?

If the boat is in good condition & well maintained, $8500 is probably reasonable. The seatback fix involves disassembling the seat and taking it to someone who has experience in fibreglass repair, such as an autobody shop. Usually they can make it look just like new. Finding original replacement seats is like looking for hens teeth.

The ski locker wood framing maybe a little difficult to deal with though.... maybe someone here has dealt with it in the past.
