Are these stress fractures?

3 Attachment(s)
I bought my 2000 Shabah 218 in September 2008 and last week while I was installing boat guides on my trailer I noticed these spidering fractures under the boat. I'm not sure if these are stress fractures or not. Could these occur from hitting waves to hard or do you think the previous owner(s) hit some rocks. Also, should I get them repaired asap or can I wait and see if they get larger? They range from 3-5 inches in diameter.

Photos are a little deceiving. These look more like a growth. Have you hit them with scotchbrite? Or od they really have a crack type depth. they dont look like my stress fractures on my 96 model.

I'm not sure. I'll take a better look over the weekend and bring a scrubbing pad with me. I'm a novice to boating and learning something new every day. Thanks for the suggestion.

someone was talking about hull blisters on another thread, I don't know what they look like... but you might look up gel coat blistering and see if the pictures look similar.

Re: Are these stress fractures?

Some type of growth they are. When I ran my fingernail over them for the first time nothing came off That's what made me think it was some kind of stress fracture in the hull.

After the Scotch Brite suggestion I used some diluted On/Off and they came of within a seconds.

Thanks again for all the help and suggestions.

that's good news... glad it was just something hanging out on your hull temporarily.
