Default Hi from Upstate NY...

I am glad to be on this site as it marks the first boat that I personally own and it also means I bought a Mariah! I have put my 238 Shaba in the water for the first time and it passed my initial trials with flying colors.

I have found my first group of problems though and I hope someone out there has some experience with, or knowlege about. First, I have no idea how to open the forward Anchor compartment. Maybe I am being foolish but I can't see any other way than I am trying. Any suggestions???

Second (and most worriesome), I have a bad connection to my trim motor. This weekend I would start her up and a few times the trim would not respond. It required me to lift the sun deck and get to the motor. Wiggling the wires made the connection and it functioned but how long will that last before I am stuck? Anyone know how big a fix that is or what exactly I would need to do? I guess I need to figure out if it is the wires or the unit.

Any pearls of wisdom would be great. Hope to see you on the water...

Welcome aboard! When you get a moment check out our Member Map & time the time to 'pin yourself'.

I dont know the answer to the anchor locker question but i do suspect that corrosion at the trim motor connection is the problem. You can check to make sure there isn't a break in the wires with a voltmeter. I would trim the wires back & create a new connection just for peace of mind.
