Greetings and introductions

Greetings to all. I have just joined the club, and I would like to introduce myself to the group. My name is Woody, and I am the proud owner of a 2001 180 Diablo. I bought it new in 2002, and since I am in the Army, it has been in storage since late spring of 2003. I have just returned from Germany, and we are really looking forward to getting back on the water. I read a post earlier about the Diablo, and whether or not it was produce in the model year 2001. It was, and as soon as my furnature is delivered from Germany, I will try and upload the owner's manual for the group. Any words of wisdom for what kinds of things I need to do to the boat before I put it in the water(other than the normal change the oil type stuff)?

Re: Greetings and introductions

Welcome aboard Woody. Yep, we knew there was a Diablo in 2001 but they are few & far between. You say its been in storage since 2003? You may have to do more than the usual change oil type stuff. I would be a little concerned about things like the water impeller sitting dry for so many yrs & deteriorating. I'd also check the bellows very closely for cracks etc before putting her in the water. Some of the others here will chime in with a few other ideas i'm sure...

Hey Woody, I myself just bought a 2001 Diablo. I'd love to see pictures of your boat, mine is white on white.. not sure what other colors were available. Mine has the 3.0L Merc. with Alpha 1. I purchased mine last month from the original owner.. he also purchased his in 2002.

I'd love to know if our boats are alike.. or if yours has any different options.

thanks again,
Nick
