Default First 6 hours ok

After that, not so much.
Stalled out and marina mechanic got it running again, but runs very rough. Alpha 5.0. Mech thinks old gas clogged carb on 2004 22sx. Was looking for rebuilt (backordered 3 wks) but mech is soaking/spraying and replacing gaskets. Issue #2: Any one know what would cause a tachometer to fail?

I believe I've read here that the little number-of-cylinders switch on the back can become corroded and kill it? Sometimes just running that switch thru its settings (then putting it back to the proper one, of course) fixes it.

yup, corrosion is the #1 cause of problems with electrics in boats. In addition to what SEMIJim suggested, you may want to check the wiring at each end & the ground for similar problems.
