Wannabe Mariah Owner

Hi all,
My first time on any kind of forum. I'm a wannabe boater in Boston. Grew up first mate on many friends boats in Boston Harbor. I'm looking at purchasing a 2000 Z202 Mariah and am told it's in mint condition with less than 100 hours on it. I plan on using it for waterskiing with the kids and will do mostly Boston Harbor, Cape Cod and some occasional Lake and River jaunts.

Do you think this would be an ok boat for this purpose and what do you think the going price should be?
Thanks for your comments
Sincerely,
Wannabe

Ahoy Wannabe and welcome to the MOC forum!

Hey, if you were a first mate, you're not a wannabe boater, you already got sea legs! What you will be is the captain and boat proud owner on one of the finest boats made!

I'd say the Z202 is a great first time boat for anyone and should provide you and your family with many enjoyable hours on the water.

As for price, you can check with NADA (click here) to get an idea as to the value depending on how she's outfitted. BTW, NADA's pricing does not normally include the trailer so take that into consideration.

Thanks for the help. Do you think it would be decent on the ocean? I'm not going far from the Harbor, but is the bow high enough for 1-1.5ft swells?

Hi Wannabe, normally I would prefer a larger hull for the ocean, but I've noticed many Mariah's tend to have a higher free-board than their competitors so 1-1.5ft swells should be fine so long as you're not trying to do any offshore racing :D.

It can get a little bumpy and you may get a little splash every now and then over the bow so just adjust the trim and speed accordingly :wink_thumbup:.
