Manuals and repairs
Hey everybody. Had her for a few years now but unfortunately I bought her used. I am doing some repairs in the off season. But I have no owner's manual. Curious does it matter what kind of fiberglass I use? 179 talari 1999. I have the mercruiser repair manual.
What about this boater license? What a money grab |
Re: Manuals and repairs
Hi wickeddrew and welcome to the club!
The owners manuals were very generic but we do have some for contributing members, if you're interested, click here and read this info about the manuals and at the bottom there ia a link for membership (BTW, it will also give you access to our vast library of information and documentation to help you get your Talari back in top shape). As for the fiberglass work, unless you're doing structural repairs, the "fiberglass" isn't as important as the type of resin or epoxy. Either way, I recommend one rated for Marine duty. Mind if I ask where are you going to to be doing the repairs and are they structural? WetWilly |
Re: Manuals and repairs
I bought some evercoat marine grad.
All along where the trailer runner is, a have a whole bunch of gouches. They have been hiding for three seasons. Im pretty sure there not structural. But Im no expert. define structural. |
Re: Manuals and repairs
If they are just surface gouges (ie thru the gelcoat and showing some f-glass) then it is a straightforward repair job. Shabahz250 did a "How To" on this process and you can read it by clicking here
Structural would refer to work on hull stringers / transom repairs etc....ie major repairs that affect the structural integrity of the boat. |
