Default New Owner request

Any way I could obtain an owner's manual for a 2001 238 Shabah?

Also has anyone experienced trouble with the fuel pumps getting clogged with debris. Is it possible to install a cartridge type fuel filter in the fuel line from the gas tank to the regular fuel filter??

First off, welcome to the board!

Next, we do have the owners manuals here on the site available for contributing members. Click the Donate button for more info! I will tell you, the manual is VERY generic and not model specific. The manuals never changed from 1991 to 2001. It's more of a general introduction to boating book.

As for the fuel pumps getting clogged with debris, I've never really heard many occurrences of that, but I'm sure it can happen if the fuel or tank has contaminants. I believe there may be some sort of inline filter already, if you become a contributing member, we have all the mercruiser and volvo service manuals available as well, those could help you diagnose the problem!

Hopefully someone will chime in with some more insight. We're all here to help each other!

Hi Ken and welcome to the club!

Per the Volvo manual, you should have a fuel filter located next to the fuel pump and it should be between the pump and the tank so the fuel to the pump should be debris free. If your pump is getting clogged, I would suggest changing the existing fuel filter canister as it's not doing its job.
