hello my names keith from essex in england nice to see intrest in mariah boats i have just purchased a z225 davanti 1995 model fitted with 5ltr volvo and sx single prop drive and woud like to know what size prop it shoud have has was used on a canal limited to 8 mph and has 15 dia 17 pitch i will be useing it on the sea for sking and cruising thanks hope you can help keith

    Hi Keith and welcome to the club!

    Have you tried your Mariah with the existing prop? It may be just right as it is.

    Getting the "right" prop requires a bit of detective work as there are many factors that determine a prop's performance. Things like - how much weight will there be in the boat (people and gear), are you looking for a better takeoff or higher top speed, Motor HP and torque, etc....

    Remember, there will always be a bit of a compromise between takeoff and top speed performance unless you're willing to invest a lot of money. So the the task here is to find the best compromise for your budget and type of boating needs

    As I said earlier, try you Mariah first, record the takeoff performance with your boat loaded for skiing and then record your motor's RPM at WOT (wide open throttle). We can proceed from there if you still feel the need for a different prop.
