Default Hi from England

Great to know there's an owners club. Ive just looked at a Z250 Shabah with Mercruiser 6.2 MPI, Bravo 3 drive and 330 hrs use. Im taking my wife with me for a more in depth look next week and hopefully make an offer. Is there any problem areas I should look out for,any info would be greatfully received. Im new to power boating, only ever sailed before.

Welcome aboard Paul! Only a sailor prior to this? Another convert!
Original Mariahs (pre 2002) are very well built boats and if properly looked after will provide years of enjoyment. The new Mariah (different owner) is slightly downscale but still well done. Things to look for? As Mariah did a lot of work in house, items like interior trim pieces, instrument panels, emblems and windshield glass & frames are difficult to find but a number of our members have gone the rebuild / repair the original piece route and posted their experiences here. Engine / outdrives / electrical parts are still widely available. Having a boat examined by a marine surveyor is usually a good idea though. Since there are a number of Z250 owners here, i will let them provide their thoughts on that boat.

Ps....dont forget to 'pin' yourself on our Member Map!

Welcome to the board Paul! I've got a 2000 Z250 Limited Edition. MikeyT hit many of the points I would have told you. Just make sure everything's in great shape, and doesn't need any replacement. Also, don't buy the boat without a sea trial! Make sure everything works, all the gauges work and everything functions like it should. If there's any issues, feel free to ask here, and we'll help you out. Do you have any photos of the boat you're looking at? Links to it on the web we could all check out?

Thanks for your reply and thoughts. I have now found 4 Z250's for sale in the south east of England, One of them is pictured here in the gallery under Z250 European Limited Edition. I feel it would be silly not to look at all of them before I make a decision, although I fell for the one Ive already seen. If I have any more questions, and Im sure I will, Ill post in Origional Mariah. Its good to know you chaps are here with knowledge.
    Cheers Paul
