Hello to all.
I bought my 1995 Z240 Talari in Sept. of 07 and have been working to restore a few minor things back to working condition. I have wanted a Mariah Boat ever since the first time I saw one at a boat show in Missouri. That was in the early 90's. I stumbled across your Web Site last week and read several of the Threads. Alot of the minor things that I had worked on and parts that took me days to find were at my fingertips when I got to reading the info this group had already compiled. Great job to all!:wink_thumbup: In the future I hope to be able to contribute in discussions and hopefully be able to help in some troublshooting of issues I have experienced. This web site also enlightened me as to whom I was bidding against on several Mariah Boat items listed on Ebay. Some that I won and some that I am still looking for. Thanks, and keep up the great work! |

Getting onboard
Thanks for the welcome!
Yeah its something that we both bought our boats about the same time but what is really funny to me is that after reading back through several threads, I found out that you actually bought the Stereo Bezel/Plate that I was watching last February on Ebay. It's a small world. I'm glad to see that someone got it that put it to use in a "Mariah". By the way, I'm still looking for one if you ever run across another one. I should be on the Map, but let me know if cannot find me. I'm located south of St. Louis beside Cape Girardeau! I will be posting pictures soon but currently I'm in the process of buying property at Kentucky Lake. I see an opportunity to build boat storage units in the area that I boat as there is currently very little. With gas last summer at $3.50 a gallon and currently fast approaching $2.00 a gallon, several people want to store their boats at the lake including me. It's a 2 hour drive for me to the lake. I have not yet had the time to go through the Library but I will soon and if there is anything I have that I do not see I will be glad to forward. Since owning my Mariah, I have ran across the Individual who sold my boat NEW. It turns out that when gas was at $3.50 a gallon last spring I went looking for a storage unit and ran across this individual. I stored my boat at his facility all summer and picked his brain for info every chance I got. When they initially stopped making Mariah's he stopped selling boats and turned the property into a boat storage facility. My plan is to meet with him this Spring when he returns to the area (he goes south for the winter:beach::beach::beach: and I can't reach him) and ask him if he would be interested in joing this group. Needless to say he is very knowledgable of the Mariah History and he knows the boats inside out. This may be the best contribution that I can give to the group if he is willing! I'll let you know if he aggrees. My winter plans are to reupholster the Sundeck and rear seats, upgrade the entire stereo and I was planning to add Trhu Hull Exhaust. If I purchase the property, this may have to wait. I appreciate the info on this site for Omnova Solutions Inc. I did contact them and I recieved samples of the material in the mail today. I can't wait to get it ordered and in the shop. I'll post some before and after pictures. Mike |
Welcome to the board Mike! Good luck with your boat storage idea!! I've been to Kentucky lake a few times, but never took my Mariah, took my old Sea Ray 180. When I had my rockcrawler Jeep, we used to frequent the Land Between the Lakes offroad park, and stay in my friend's cabin in the Jonathan's Creek area. Kentucky Lake is such a beautiful place, I'd love to go back one of these days.
Keep us updated with the progress of things! :wink_thumbup: And glad you've found the site helpful, that's what we created it for!! :) |
Kentucky Lake
The property I am looking at is in the Johnathan Creek area as well. I have been going to this area for the past 3 years. I have a good friend that has a cabin just north of the bridge on Hwy. 68 in the same area.
We go over to land between the lakes to ride the trails a couple of times a year. That have great trails over there. If you ever make it back down to Ky. Lake give me shout! Mike |
