Default bilge blowers

help. i took my boat out for a run and as i was preparing to take off my bilge blowers cut out. By cut out i mean as soon as i switched them on they triggered the overload button on dash. Also i couldnt hear anything from astern, so i'm thinking they werent working. I dont want to run motor without blowers working. Questions; 1. Is there anything i can do or should i take it back to dealer to get fixed (hassle) 2. how loud are they supposed to be, eg. should i hear them running? Smooth waters too all.

Yes, you should definitely be able to hear it running. Chances are you only have one bilge blower, not two. There has to be a short in the system for it to trip the breaker. It's an easy fix, and blowers are pretty much universal, so if you can find another one, the only thing you'll have to match is the size of the hoses that are already there. It's a simple two wire hookup! However, I would call the dealer and see if it's covered under your warranty.

Good luck with it, and let us know if you get it fixed. In the meantime, don't use the boat, running without a blower is like sitting on a timebomb. Safety First.

thanks for the feedback. I traced the wiring and found where the short was. Bit of heatshrink and a loosen of the fan and away it went. What a relief! Was worried i couldn't take the boat out but now it's happy days!!!!!!!!! I just wish the manual had a more in depth wiring diagram and also dash component manual but never mind. I'm glad they invested more in a great boat than the manual in most ways.
