My wife and I just purchased a new RX 181. I was wondering if the seat pedestal pillars just pull out of the base, and can I install longer ones? Any help will be greatly appreciated. The seat pedestals are made by Springfield Belle and look to be 2 piece construction.

If memory serves me, I believe the pillar is held to the base by a pair of set screws accessed from underneath the base. To be sure and save you time and labor, try contacting Springfield first. Their website is kind of vague and they only list their email address so here it is : [email protected]

Welcome to the board! When you get a chance, post up some pics of your RX181!

Guys I really appreciate the help. but it looks as if I am gonna have to replace the existing base and pedestal. I call the manufacturer and they informed me that the base was thru-bolted. So much for an extension.
