Default Looking at buying Jubilee 214 HELP!

I am looking at purchasing a 1997 jubilee 214. Everything is in great shape and is a two owner. My main concern is the weight of the boat. I am finding conflicting answers about how much this boat and trailer weigh. Does anybody on her own this boat, and could you give me any pros or cons about it? Also, what would you be comfortable pulling it with? I have a Nissan frontier pro 4X with a 4.0 V6. The tow rating is about 7000 pounds but just not sure it can handle This boat. The lake we would be going to almost all the time is only 15 minutes away, but I would have to drive for four or five hours to pick it up. I would also like to frequent a lake about 1hr away. Would you feel comfortable pulling this boat with that truck with the surge brakes and if I put a transmission cooler And weight distribution hitch and sway bars on the truck?

The 1997 brochure has a 214 Deckboat and a 244 Jubilee. one of these must be what you are looking at.

Don't have one myself so I can't answer much specifically. Take the boat weight, add estimated trailer weight, plus fuel and a little more for equipment, supplies, beer... This should get you a close total weight.

The vehicle will most likely pull it fine, it is stopping that is important also. If the trailer has a braking system on it, this will be very helpful.

I suggest you join the Mariah Owners Club facebook page and ask the same question. That site is much more active and you will get many more responses.

I have a 98 Jubilee z244 and we love it they are the best boats. The 214 is about 3600 so call it 4000 for a safe round number. Trailer should be around 1500 so you’re still under the capacity for your vehicle you should be fine. Most boat trailers have surge brakes I know mine does from Mariah. I would not worry about a distribution hitch you will not need it. I have never seen anyone use one with a boat either. I have gone through my Jubilee front to back so I know a lot about them. Many options for engine/drives so depends what it has. They have a ton of storage and the bathroom is a big plus. We got 10 on our comfortably. Join the Facebook group like Greg said, not many of us check this site anymore.
