Default Hello!

Hey y’all. Marc here from Eastern Ontario Canada. New to my wife and I is a 1992 Mariah Shabah with the 4.3L MerCruiser. Just got this baby a week ago! We are 100% new to boats so our first time ownership has been lots of fun and a great learning experience.

Looking forward to enjoying the open waters.

Welcome to the group. You chose a good boat to start with and looks like it has been well kept. This site has a ton of information in the forums for questions you may have, but the downside is not a lot of daily activity. You should also join the two facebook groups for Mariah Owners where they are much more active.

Happy Boating, hit us with the questions and post lots of pictures.

    Thank you!

I am working to rebuild some parts of the boat. The main area that I am working on right now is the electrical as it looks to be a real nightmare. All of the switches are tied into other items, attaching to the 6 point 12v glass fuse rail under the steering wheel. I will be replacing it with a 16 point 12v rail so that all of the accessories can have their own power and not feed on another, plus will make the wiring look much nicer and easier to troubleshoot in the future.

We unfortunately lost both the left and right side window vents and finding replacements have not been very fun - only leading to dead-ends so far. -- This all started because the horn did not work correctly (sounded sick) and was intermittent)

For now I am trying to find what wires are part of the main boat wire harness to know where the main power comes in from.. Will have to wait for the forum to update my membership so that I can access the materials!

It is taking the admins a little time to update lately. You will find the wiring harnesses are very simple, basically outlines and wire colors. Unfortunately, I think the dash and fuse wiring is probably the one area Mariah did not exceed most other manufactures. The wiring color is great, but the glass fuses and difficulty of reaching switches and stuff could have been better.

Hard to find glass for these boats, keep an eye on ebay and the forums for people parting out old boats, you may also be able to use plexiglass for the side windows as an option.

Dont hold your breath waiting for the Admin here to update your membership. As for your vent windows, a few members here have made replacements out of acrylic or plexiglass as originals are very hard to find. Join both of the Mariah owners groups on Facebook and ask there about the windows and for a wiring diagram.
