Need Proper Method to drain BAD gas, Help!

Hello everyone, I've got a 2003 Mariah SX19 that I picked up from a friend. The boat has been sitting for about a year at a storage facility.

I need some help with the proper way to drain all the old bad gas from the gas tank. The old-school syphon with the hose tube doesn't work as I'm sure there are filter screens preventing the hose to make it to the boats gas tank.

Please instruct me with where to access the tank to pump out all the bad gas!

If there is a simple method to turn on the fuel pump and disconnect a line to pump into gas cans please let me know.

Thanks in advance for any help or advise.

In most boats the access to the fuel tank is either thru the filler hose or thru the fuel tank sender unit which is usually mounted just in front of the engine. If your boat is carpeted you may have to lift the carpet to access it. Make sure you disconnect your battery though before you remove the sender unit.

Hey Mikeyt, Thanks for the info. I think I have a good idea where it is now.
