Pierre, Shabah 252 2000 blower issue
New to the cub.
Blower not working, alarm on, is it for that, easy to replace? Thanks. |
Re: Pierre, Shabah 252 2000 blower issue
The alarm staying on is due to any/all of the following;
a) - Oil pressure being too low b) - outdrive oil reservoir being low c) - engine is overheating The blower not working is either; a) - poor electrical connections b) - poor ground c) - blown fuse d) - blower failure. |
Re: Pierre, Shabah 252 2000 blower issue
Thanks Mike.
Is there an alarm for the non functioning blower. While the motor cover is up and the engine RPM higher than 3k the alarm turns of. Thanks. |
Re: Pierre, Shabah 252 2000 blower issue
There isn't an alarm for the blower afaik. What you're stating suggests you may have a cooling / overheating issue. Perhaps one of the large boat guys here can chime in.

The temperature gage is showing normal temp at any RPM.

Re: Pierre, Shabah 252 2000 blower issue
Ok, I'll assume you have checked your oil level in both the engine & outdrive reservoir? If they are both good, then my next thing to check / replace would be the oil pressure sensor unit. If i remember right the Quicksilver ones are about $125 new and aftermarket ones about $50 - $75. They are easy to replace and there are You Tube videos on that procedure with the 5.7
