Re: Tips from Mariah techs
I have pulled that exact motor three separate times from my Z280. Getting it out is no issue, it is getting it back in that is the trick. I use a load leveler bar so I don't damage the intake. My boat originally had a black water tank mounted to the front bulk head of the engine compartment, that has to come out to give you any chance. On the way back in the real trick is to get the rear motor mount bolts started. I use the boat yard crane to get me close then switch over to a chain hoist hung from a large timber across the gunwales for fine tuning. There is not a lot of room back there so you may have to remove everything from the sides of the engine compartment, batteries, water heater etc.
