Just bought the boat today. Pick it up on Monday. So excited. Never had an inboard before. We live in East Texas and will be hitting the lakes with it. Glad to find this forum as I am sure we will have questions.

First question. My boat just says 198SE. Nothing about being a Shabah.. I read online that a Shabah indicates a cuddy cabin which mine does not have. Only weight I have found is 2570 for the Shabah.. so what does mine normally weigh? I have looked thru a ton of pictures online of boats similar to mine that are listed as Shabah’s. So I am confused. Also noticed that many are on single axle trailers and others like mine are on double axles? Why the difference? Thanks for a great forum.

I dont know where you read that information about the 'Shabah' but its wrong. The '97 198SE Shabah is a bow rider and yes it does weigh in at 2570lbs. A single axle trailer is sufficient for this boat.

Thank you so much for this info. This boat in the brochure appears to be exactly like ours.. including the colors. I cannot wait to get it out in the water.. I saw that it was a cuddy cabin on boat trader.com. The dual axle trailer is the Chariot which originally came with the boat. We lucked out as the boat and trailer both are in excellent condition.

One should actually have boat in front of you when making comments about it. LOL. Boat has Shabah embedding in the hull which is same color as the white hull. Did not show on pictures. Got boat home and noticing lots of little missed things that were glossed over or unseen at time of purchase. Live and learn. Thanks again for the help and clarification.
