1996 Mariah shabah

Just bought a 96 shabah. 🙂 she’s in pretty rough shape but the motor is good. Mechanic is reinstalling my frost plug and fixing my out drive starting on the 7th. Wanna take care of the shotty wiring job the guy who owned the boat before me did. Any tips or tricks on that. Trim switch needs rewired (gonna replace the whole throttle controller). Speakers all need rewired. Need new switches for all courtesy switches on my dash as well because they have basically melted from sitting outside. I have donated and became a member to view the wiring diagrams and stuff but I might be blind and I can’t find it anywhere for my boat. If someone could help me out with a link that would be great! Also, my sun deck is in pretty rough shape and the extender rod seals don’t hold it up very well either. Sorry for the long post I just have a lot of things I wanna get taken care of before she goes to the mechanic.

Congrats on the new boat! As with the vast majority of boats a lot of the above mentioned are all generic to the marine world as in pretty much all manufactures used the same components to build their brand of boat. I cant help you with the wire diagrams but if I were to fix a boat in the condition you are describing yours I would be ordering all new Carling switches. Ebay has a ton of them. Im sure there are other sites with them, Ive just used ebay. To find what those switches go to you might want to look at the gallery for 1996 Shabahs of your model. Might find a good photo of what they went to there.

As for the struts on the sunpad: take one off and look for a model number. If that does not help you will need the dimensions and the force of the strut in pounds. Not sure where to look for the most reasonable price but NAPA has had a good selection in my experience.

For Speaker wires it all depends what youre wanting to do. If your putting in an amp you will definitely want to run some new wire. (Check out Knukonceptz for power wire to the amp- its good stuff at a good price)

I have no idea what diagrams exist on here. For that trim switch try a google search as those are a mercruiser deal and not a mariah specific. That throttle replacement should go a long way to getting you straight.

Try posting a few pictures of the issues in question, maybe someone with a 96 can chime in and help with the switches if you cant find a photo in the gallery.

All the manuals / wiring diagrams etc are there under "Original Mariah Manuals and Supplements". Try page 4 once you find it. No links allowed as that is a 'Contributor access only' area.

I'll give you one to start with though. Regarding the Trim / tilt system there is a complete troubleshooting guide write-up and wiring diagram here: http://www.mariahownersclub.com/foru...or-system.html
