gimble bearing 94 z272

mechanic says motor has to be pulled to replace on volvo penta. is this true. is it greaseable?

There are plenty of videos on You Tube etc covering the replacement of a gimbal bearing on a Volvo outdrive. I dont see any reason to remove the engine for this job but the complete outdrive certainly does.
