Hi!! I recently purchased purchased a 1996 Mariah with the 4.3 I had to replace the head gasket and it’s been running great for a month now yesterday it started to tick when full throttle no tick when idle but seems to be losing power . I did use a lighter weight oil would that cause a issue please help lol !!!!

where is the tick. do a compression check. might just be an exhaust tick.

I believe it is now a exhaust tick but also think my carb is feeding too much fuel causing it to flood I by passed the on board tank and use a external 6 gal one and think I know have a carb issue. Last post was due to thin oil and oil sending unit was broken
