New to me 96 Talari 215
Long story short, I got a "free" boat! It had been sitting for 4 years and was no longer being used....ran when parked sorta deal. Anyways, I got it running this weekend, once insured and registered, we'll take it to the lake. If it gets around, then the project begins! Paint and gel coat a re rough, vinyl is super rough, the cuddy smells like a 70s camper. Any tips out there on these boats as I go from this first test on the lake and beyond?
Thanks, Dan |

how long did you run it on muffs. change oil, drive oil, look for water in oil, fuel water separator, spark plugs and wires.dont be to adventurous on the first trip. but good luck and welcome

So gimble just uses same grease as a U-Joint I'm assuming? Is there special grease for the coupler? |
Re: New to me 96 Talari 215
Motor coupler uses EP grease due to high pressures between the steel drive shaft splines and the softer aluminum splines of the motor coupler. You don't want the coupler to fail, need to pull the engine to change it. I'm interested middle of that job now.
Gimbal bearing uses water proof trailer grease. Sent from my SM-N975U using Tapatalk |
