Howdy Need some help!

I just bought a 1993 2350ZC, The garage who checked it out said it was in fine shape, Did all the maintenance, New tires on the trailer, New Battery, replaced all the filters and oil, New high quality stereo with all new speakers. etc.. So I brought her home. I did notice the alt in it was rusted pretty bad and the rest of the engine looked like new, We'll the alt was bad so I bought a marine 110 amp alt. and fixed it. Sat it wasn't raining so we took her to the lake unloaded her Backed up and drove her slow for about 50 yards out of the no wake, waited for 2 other small boats to get out of the way and gave her some gas we went maybe 20 yards and boom, long story short the prop spline broke and ruined the lower case. From what I've read its a MERCRUISER, ALPHA ONE ( GEN 2 ) STERNDRIVE LOWER UNIT / LEG / OUTDRIVE
( 192956458248 ) If this is right does anyone on here have one for sale, And or do I have my info right. Help. I bought this Boat cause I was tired of working on my Chris Craft 19' 4 cylinder merc. Now I have 2 boats I cant put either in water!:shakehead:

Sounds like you need to replace the lower unit on your Alpha 1 / Gen 2. Try posting in the "Parts Wanted" section in the Member Marketplace but you might be best to check around with your local vendors to see if they have a used / rebuilt unit available.

The Gen 2's started being used in 1991 so that will be what you have on your boat. Note that the Gen 2 will not bolt directly to a Gen 1 bellhousing but can be adapted to fit.

Here is a good site explaining the differences and how to identify a Gen 1 vs Gen 2: https://www.perfprotech.com/blog/art...a2-sterndrives

Thanks, Great website. A lot of information that I couldn't find. Hopefully I'll have her back in the water soon.
