Default First Mariah

Hello fellow owners,
I have just bought a 2007 ST18 with 4.3 mercruiser. Way slower than my Merc 140 outboard but very quiet and comfortable and great for wake boarding. Engine was serviced by last owner which meant nothing was done properly. I have done most since and now goes well. Issues were the fuel pump switch from oil sensor, same plugs and rotor and manifolds since new !Getting new hour gauge or repair this week. Parts are a little pricey here in Oz.
Is it true that the hull has no wood in it for these models. Floor seems like wood.
Paul

My 2006 SX 20 seems to have no wood in the hull. I have installed seats using new screws in several places and no saw dust in sight.

Looking around ski locker I see only glass and foam. Same in the bilge.

Those Sea-Fox boats were built to a 'price point' which meant they used the least expensive options in construction and kept the cost down.

So whatcha tryin to say Mikey?

They have far fewer features than original Mariahs. But the hulls, at least mine, are wood free. Excluding seat boxes and side panels.

I chose Mariah because no wood in the hull was a better construction ...after replacing old tree in previous boats.

Most boats after around 2000 or so are pretty much wood free hulls.

Same thing we've been saying since the inception of this forum. The Sea-Fox boats were built and marketed as 'affordable boats' on the same level as Bayliners and other similar boats and not quite up to the construction standards of the original Mariahs. Nothing against them because they still get people on the water and they do everything the originals do.

Agreed. Not fancy at all like the original Mariahs. BUT they are indeed wood free like most newer Bayliners are.
