Default 1996 Talari Z250 Project

The wife and I recently became the owners of a 1996 Talari Z240 with many issues. Came to the site looking for answers to upholstery questions. I was hoping someone was making upholstery kits for us do it yourselfers hiwever, didn’t find that. Maybe someone with same experience has answers?

Also the engine needs to be replaced, milky oil. I understand it pooped the freeze plugs and probably had a cracked block. The boat seems to be very sound with the exception of the top trim all the way around. Sure would be cool if someone knows about upholstery kits.

Hope to get all these problems cured this year and come out next spring with a beautiful boat.

Doubt you’ll find a vinyl kit. Depending on how bad the vinyl is you can find places that copy the design of the skins and send them to you. You then install or hire upholstery shop to do the work. I recently paid $1500 to do bow seats, rear seats and sunpad on our SX20. We chose all white for simplicity and budget purposes.

No 'upholstery kits' are available, everything is now custom made and wont be cheap. Throwing that cost on top of an engine replacement might make me wonder if its worth it.

Thanks for the input. Already found copy cat upholstery and a complete engine. Since it was a gimme looks like we should go for it.

Copy cat upholstery? Do you mind sharing. I have done a few of the components of my interior and have a few to go.

    copycatupholstery.com
The way it works is that you take off the vinyl (without destroying it), ship it to them. They copy it and send it back to you to install.
    Compare prices and check reviews.
