A Former Mariah Employee
Hello Everyone,
I worked in the prototype department at Mariah from '92 till '95. I had great pride in the work that I performed,as always tried to make every part that I created absolutly perfect!I was involed in the process of building the first parts that the molds were made from, from the smallest seatback to the 270 hull and decks.I worked closely with Jimmy Fulks and Bill Evers and the designers on the new model changes for the upcomming boat shows. I allways liked the idea that copies of the parts that I shaped with my own hands where going to proud owners all over the world!I am not an owner myself but I feel that I have a conection to everyone that owns one of the models that I worked on, and there were many!I would be honered to be welcome into your group! |
Hello Earthbound Misfit,
May I be the first to welcome you to the Mariah Owners Club. It is we who are honored to have you as part of our group! You are the second member who was an employee of Mr. Fulks to join our club and even Mr. Fulks was a member. I know your knowledge and experiences working for Mariah are priceless and we hope you’ll share them with us. I won’t get into asking you about your time with Mariah and Mr. Fulks as I believe that honor should go to our Club creators and Admins, Chris and Ryan. Our other member is MariahPD, he was the Customer Service / Warranty Manager for Mariah Boat's Inc. from 1992 - 1998 so I'm sure you two knew each other. If You would like to contact him, you could send him a PM by clicking here. I personally want to thank you for your part in helping create what I feel are one of the best built and the best looking boats on the water! Sincerely, WetWilly |
Hello WetWilly,
Thanks for the warm welcome! It gives me great pride to read all of the praise and admiration for the boats that I had a part in creating! This site is wonderfull and I wasn't sure if I really belonged since I am not an actuall owner. I Just learned about Jimmy's passing, and am greatly saddened. He will be missed! I see you have a '96 model.I'm sure my hands have been all over that!! Thanks again for making me feel welcome! Earthbound Misfit |
Wow Jeff, it seems pretty special on this site to have someone that knew him in the day and also worked on the boats! If you had a hand in designing the
95 Z240 Talari, you did a great job! |
Welcome to the board Earthbound Misfit! It's great to have some former employees on here. You'll always be welcome here, as you played a part in something we all have such a passion for. Have you had a chance to look around the site at all? If you'd like a trip down Memory Lane, check out the Factory Photos presentation. Maybe you'll even see yourself!
Once again, welcome aboard, and we'd love to hear your experiences and anything else you'd be willing to share! |
Welcome aboard! Owner or not, i think any former employees of Mariah would be made very welcome here. Your insight and involvement into the early days of the company and design of the boats we are enjoying will help everyone in this club.

Thanks everyone!
I checked out the "Factory Photos" and the brought back a lot of memories. there were alot of familer faces. I think I have that book that those were taken for Picture # 40, I think it was, is the 270 series hull,I believe. I was involved in that project all the way through. I remember that day well. The fellow in the back and I were working on it when they came in to take pictures. They brought the other two guys in to be in the picture from another project. I was asked to stay out! The salesman in charge of the photos told me it was nothing personal,it was just my HAIR! (really long! Bon Jovi hair lol)I was more than a little upset, but when Jimmy heard of what had happened he came back and apologized personally. |
Welcome to the forums Earthbound!
I think everyone had long hair in the early 90s! Myself was one of them.. LOL. I counted the white upside down hull as being photo #39 (close enough). Was that the photo that you were referring to? I think it is awesome to hear from former employees that worked there. I would like to have a white mariah shirt that most of the employees were wearing.... silk screening anyone? :) |
Earthbound-
Welcome to the board? Any chance you have any interesting stories about the 1995 z240? I know Doug and I would both be thrilled to hear them amongst others perhaps.... I have had the boat for seven years and don't see myself ever selling it - it's awesome! Brent |
Oops - I meant 'welcome to the board!' sorry...:)
